Questions and answers
The stuff people usually ask before booking. If you don't see it here, call or message us and we'll help.
Basics
How fast is it?
Most spots see 50 to 200 Mbps down and 5 to 20 up. That covers video calls, 4K streaming, gaming, and a bunch of devices at once. The clearer the view of the sky, the better it runs.
Is there a data cap?
No hard cap on standard rentals. Everyday use, work, and streaming are never a problem. During very busy periods, unusually heavy use might slow down a little, but you'd have to work at it.
How many devices can connect?
Around 20 to 30 at once, which is plenty for a family, a crew, or a small event. Phones, laptops, smart TVs, cameras, tablets, and so on.
Setup
How long does setup take?
About five minutes. Open the case, set the dish where it can see the sky, and turn it on. It aims itself, and there's nothing to install.
Do I need a clear view of the sky?
Yes. The dish talks to satellites overhead, so it needs an open view. Thick tree cover or steep canyon walls can slow it down, and the included mount helps you find a better spot.
Power
What powers it?
Standard rentals plug into any outlet or generator. If you're going off-grid, add the battery and solar panel and you can run all day without shore power.
Coverage
Where does it work?
All you need is a clear view of the sky. The kit talks to satellites overhead instead of a cable in the ground or a cell tower on a hill, so it works all over the US: trails, cabins, ranches, venues, and job sites. You pick it up here in Central Oregon and take it wherever you are going.
Can I take it out of state?
Yes, and plenty of people do. Road trips are one of the most common reasons folks rent from us. The kit works the same a thousand miles from here as it does in Bend. All we ask is that it comes back to us at the end of your rental.
Weather
Is it weatherproof?
The dish is built to sit outside in rain, snow, heat, and wind, and it can melt light snow off itself. The case keeps everything safe while you move it around.
Booking
How do deposits and payment work?
You reserve with your dates and we confirm what's available. There's a refundable damage deposit at pickup or delivery, and the rental is paid before your start date. We take cards and local options.
What's your cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 48 hours ahead for a full refund. Inside 48 hours, we put the rental toward a future booking. If the weather turns, talk to us and we'll work it out.
Do you deliver?
Yes. We deliver and pick up within 30 miles of Bend for a flat fee. For events, job sites, or spots farther out, get in touch for a quote.
Support
What if something goes wrong?
Scan the code on the case for guides, or call us during support hours. On weekly and monthly rentals, we'll swap a unit for free if one ever gives you trouble.
Need internet somewhere tricky?
Send us your dates and where you'll be, and we'll tell you what's available. Usually same day.
