Secure and safe to use
Here's how we keep your network private and your setup safe outdoors, plus a few simple do's and don'ts.
Secure by default
Every kit ships with a unique WPA2 password and an isolated guest network option. We rotate credentials between rentals so no one inherits your setup.
Your data stays yours
We do not monitor, log, or sell your browsing. Traffic runs straight to the satellite network. Treat public Wi-Fi habits as usual — use HTTPS and a VPN for sensitive work.
Electrical safety
Weatherproof connectors, surge-tolerant power supplies, and clear cable routing. Never run cables across walkways; use the included clips and keep the router dry.
RF safety
The dish transmits at low power well within FCC limits. Mount it out of reach and avoid standing directly in front at close range during operation.
Weather & placement
The dish handles rain, snow, and heat. In high wind, secure the stand or use a ground/roof mount. Keep it clear of dry brush and never place near open flame.

Scan the QR code on the case for step-by-step guides, or call us during support hours. For emergencies, always contact local services first.
Do
- Place the dish on stable ground or a secure mount with a clear view of the sky.
- Keep the router and power station indoors or under cover.
- Use the included clips to route cables safely, away from foot traffic.
- Change to your own Wi-Fi password if you like — instructions are on the card.
- Power down and pack up if a severe storm or fire risk is forecast.
Don't
- Don't submerge any component or coil cables in standing water.
- Don't place the kit near open flame, generators' exhaust, or dry brush.
- Don't stand directly in front of the dish at close range while it operates.
- Don't attempt repairs — call us and we'll swap the unit.
- Don't rely on Skybeam as your only means of emergency communication.
Emergency note
Skybeam is a great backup connection, but satellite internet can be affected by extreme weather and obstructions. Never depend on it as your sole means of emergency communication. In an emergency, contact local emergency services by phone (911) and follow official guidance.
